My name is Erik Sather and I am the owner & founder of

Nurtured Noses Pet Care

At Nurtured Noses we believe that the animals health, welfare, and happiness come first. I've spent the last decade of my life fostering relationships in the community, both human and canine. I've taken care of all kinds of animals from cats to ferrets and birds to reptiles, though dogs have had my heart from the beginning and they are by far my most favorite animal to care for. It is such a reciprocal relationship with dogs: they love you unconditionally and I love them unconditionally.


For me, it's just that simple. I love them and enjoy spending my time caring for them. They can sense that, they let me know what they need and I give it to them. From one pet owner to another, let me assure you that if you entrust me with your loved one: I won't let you down. They will be my top priority, and every moment that they are in my charge, they will be healthy, loved and well taken care of. Whether that means exercise, medicines, fresh water & food or good old fashioned love and affection; they will get it from me!


Having taken care of hundreds of pets and having owned ten dogs, several cats, and many other pets of my own throughout the years, I've been training for this occupation my entire life. Now, I have the opportunity to take the next step and build a business around my passion. Most importantly: this is what I love to do, it makes me happy and I am therefore the most likely candidate to make your best friend a happy companion in the times you must be away from them. Every person who works with me in building Nurtured Noses Pet Care shares my passion for pets and providing the very best care: we treat your pets as we treat our own. 


Personally, I have been to school, obtained a degree from George Mason in Communications, all the while caring for innumerable pets and households and now I am using all the knowledge and experience I've gained through the years, and from several irreplaceable mentors, to form the best and kindest pet care business around. I also enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping, playing the guitar, geocaching - pretty much anything that gets me outside!

Our Vision: I would like to create a company that is committed to the health and welfare of our pets; one which actually functions to achieve the most well rounded care possible by working together with pet owners. Working together will provide the most seamless care and therefore best care of your loved ones possible. By striking a balance between love and discipline, spoiling and providing the guidance needed to enjoy themselves in your absence, we can work in tandem to provide the pet with the framework and expectations they sorely need to understand how we all can best coexist. Then every interaction can create happiness and fond associations and everlasting bonds; in other words, let playtime begin!!
